The Elegant Shoe Tutorial

Well, it's finally done. In this tutorial I explain how to use the my template to create a Marie Antoinette style shoe from paper. This was originally created for a swap I am hosting at Marie Antoinette Mail Art Ning group. These shoes are really fun to make. The possibilities are endless!

Click on the template and do a "Save As" and then enlarge if needed so that the sole of the shoe is 8'' from tip to heel (it may print out the correct size as it is). When cutting out the shoe front trace an extra 1/4-1/2 inch for tabs. The tutorial gives options for different ways to expand the toe area so that there is more room to tuck in a little gift.

I hope you find it useful.

  7. That was an excellent tutorial! I am even more excited to get started now with much more confidence. As soon as I stopped by I thought, "Yippee, I get to hear her voice". Sometimes, I step back and realize I haven't heard the voices of so many of our friends and feel kind of odd about that. Thank you for all that you do Terri! xoxo Rhonda...

I do have a question, how do you hold the shoe upper to the sole while the glue is drying? Your projects looks so neat and tidy, I'm afraid mine would be uneven and would appreciate your advice on the glueing process. Hugs! As always, Carol

Cielo's and Martha's and your tea party brought us together.
Thank you for following my blog!
How very pretty and creative your Marie Antoinette shoes are, and what a clear tutorial.
You have inspired me to place a post on shoes that I intend to wear in the garden from now on. Yes, yes, in the garden - as they are beyond 'dress for success' but are still so magnificent and inspired by an ancient model.
    I will follow your creativity!
    Have a happy day!

  78. Hi Terri,

This shoe you have created is absolutely AMAZING! One of my DT's created it for their project submission this week and directed us to your blog!

I am the owner of the Stamptacular Sunday Challenge Blog. We have a tutorial section on our website and I was wondering if we could add your Elegant Shoe tutorial...of course we wouldn't be claiming the tutorial as our own! We would simply be sharing the link with all our visitors. Would this be alright with you?

Could you please contact me at misscill@yahoo.com and let me know your thoughts on this and if you would give me your blessings on sharing your wonderful work? I would greatly appreciate it!

Thanks so much for the inspiration!
